Metin2 Class Guide: Which Class Fits Your Playstyle

Metin2 has five playable classes, and each one splits into two specializations. That gives you ten distinct playstyles to choose from, and the decision shapes how you farm, fight, and progress for the rest of your account. This guide breaks down all five classes, their specializations, and which type of player each one suits.

Warrior

The Warrior is the classic melee class. Heavy armor, high HP, and straightforward combat make it the most beginner-friendly option. Warriors can block attacks from multiple enemies, which makes them resilient even with weaker equipment.

Body Warrior
The offensive path. Focuses on maximum melee damage with two-handed weapons. Skills like Aura of the Sword, Berserk, and Sword Spin give you strong AoE and single-target damage. Best for players who want to dive into packs of monsters and grind aggressively.

Mental Warrior
The defensive path. Uses sword and shield for higher survivability. Skills like Bash, Spirit Strike, and Strong Body give you better defense and crowd control. Best for players who want to tank hits and survive longer in tough areas.

Ninja

Ninjas are the only class offering both true ranged combat and fast melee assassination. Light armor means lower defense, but high mobility and burst damage make up for it.

Blade-Fight Ninja (Dagger)
The melee path. Fast attacks, critical hits, and high mobility. Skills like Ambush, Rolling Dagger, and Stealth let you strike from close range and disappear. Best for players who enjoy fast, high-skill combat and PvP duels.

Archery Ninja (Bow)
The ranged path. Attacks from a distance with reliable damage. Skills like Repetitive Shot, Arrow Shower, and Fire Arrow let you kite enemies and farm safely. Best for players who prefer a methodical, safe playstyle.

Sura

Suras are hybrid fighters who combine melee with magical abilities. They agreed to let the Seed of Evil grow in their arms, gaining magical powers that enhance their combat.

Weapon Sura
The melee path. Uses self-enhancement magic to boost physical damage and party buffs. A versatile, well-rounded option that works in both PvE and group content.

Black Magic Sura
The caster path. Uses attack spells like Dark Strike and debuffs to deal strong magical AoE damage. One of the strongest burst damage classes in the game. Best for players who like a caster fantasy with serious damage output. Requires careful mana management.

Shaman

Shamans are the support class and the only class with active healing magic. They are highly sought after in group content.

Dragon Shaman (Attack)
The damage path. Focuses on attack spells and can farm effectively solo. Good for players who want to deal damage while still having some support capabilities.

Buffer Shaman (Support)
The healing path. Enhances healing and support skills that make other classes significantly stronger. Best for players who enjoy a support role and want to be invited to every party.

Lycan

Lycans are the newest class and bring a unique transformation mechanic. In werewolf form, they gain significantly increased melee damage and special abilities. Best for players who want to try something different and enjoy transformation mechanics.

Which Class Should You Pick?
  • Beginner: Warrior (Body) or Ninja (Archer). Both are forgiving and strong at farming.
  • Ranged combat fan: Ninja (Archer). The only true ranged option.
  • High damage: Sura (Black Magic). Strongest burst damage in the game.
  • Team player: Shaman (Buffer). Valuable support in groups.
  • Something different: Lycan. Transformation mechanic sets it apart.
  • PvP focused: Ninja (Dagger) or Sura (Black Magic). High damage and mobility.
There is no single best class. The best one is the playstyle you enjoy, because Metin2 rewards the time you put into a character.
