Metin2 Quest Guide: Essential Quests and Their Rewards

Quests are the backbone of early and mid-game progression in Metin2. They give you experience, yang, equipment, and access to systems you cannot reach any other way. This guide covers the quest types, how to find them, which ones are worth your time, and what rewards they give.

How Quests Work

You can get quests in several ways:
  • A scroll appears automatically at the left edge of your screen when a quest is available.
  • An arrow appears over an NPC's head, and a marker shows on your minimap and world map.
  • Some quests have no notification. You need to talk to the NPC directly to start them.
  • Mission books, found in the world or as rewards, unlock additional quest lines when activated.
  • Horse development quests are activated at the Stable Boy.
Quests range from simple (kill 9 Wild Dogs) to complex multi-NPC chains that take you across several maps. Some are only available after reaching a certain level.

Quest Categories
  • Level quests are the numbered quests you receive at each level tier. They reward experience, yang, and sometimes equipment. These are the most reliable source of progression in the early game.
  • Hunting quests ask you to kill a specific number of a named monster. Rewards scale with the difficulty of the target.
  • Mission book quests come from activating mission books. They often have better rewards than standard level quests and may unlock unique items or systems.
  • Unique quests are one-time quests that grant special rewards like titles, costumes, or rare items.
  • Daily quests reset every day and give consistent rewards for players who log in regularly.
Early Game Quests Worth Doing (Level 1 to 30)
  • Welcome to Metin2 (Level 1): Talk to the City Guard, then the Guardian, then the General Store Saleswoman. Rewards 200 yang, a Wood Accessorie +0, and 4 Red Potions (S).
  • Hunting quests (Level 3 to 30):</b] Kill Wild Dogs, Wolves, Bears, and Boars. Each tier gives 10% of your current level in experience plus a piece of equipment. The armor and weapon rewards are upgrades over what you find in stores at that level.
  • The Biologist's analysis series (Levels 4 to 30): A repeating quest chain from Biologist Chaegirab. Each iteration asks for specific monster drops and rewards experience and items. Easy to complete while grinding.
  • Get the Flowers (Level 31): From Huahn-So. Collect flowers from the Nameless Flowers on Map 1. Rewards 400,000 EXP and 12,000 yang.
  • The Secret Book / Diary Page 3 (Level 40): From Storekeeper. Involves killing the Tree Frog Leader and collecting Frog Legs. Rewards 2,000,000 EXP and 50,000 yang.
  • Meet the Spy (Level 58): From Yon-I-Walker. Leads to the Beran-Setaou Soulstone. Rewards 5,500,000 EXP.
  • Leviathan Pearls (Level 94): From Yon-I-Walker. Rewards 12,904,600 EXP, 346,000 yang, and 3 Exorcism Scrolls.

Quest Rewards Breakdown

  • Experience points are the primary reward. Level quests and high-level chain quests give the largest chunks.
  • Yang from quests is a significant income source in the early and mid game. Some high-level quests reward hundreds of thousands of yang.
  • Equipment from level quests is often better than store-bought items at the same level. The armor and weapon rewards give you a real advantage.
  • Consumables like potions, buffs, and reinforcement scrolls help in combat and are always useful.
  • Quest items and unique rewards include titles, costumes, and special items not available in stores.

Tips for Efficient Questing

Do quests while grinding. If a quest asks you to kill 15 Wild Dogs, go to the Wild Dog spawn and kill them while farming for your own experience. Stack multiple quests in the same area to save time. Check your quest journal regularly to see what is available and what the next step is.

High-level quests (Level 80+) reward massive amounts of experience and yang but may require dungeon runs or boss kills. Prepare with proper equipment and potions before attempting them.
