Metin2 boss monsters: what drops, how summoning scrolls work, and which bosses are worth farming
Boss monsters in Metin2 are the strongest regular enemies in the game. They have the "Boss" rank, high critical hit chance, massive HP pools, and they drop chests and eggs that normal monsters do not. If you are past the early game and want valuable items, boss farming is where you need to be.
What makes a boss different
Boss monsters have significantly more HP than normal monsters, regenerate health faster, and hit with a higher critical chance. Nearly all of them drop chests, which contain items of varying value depending on the boss and your progress. All bosses also drop eggs, which are needed for certain game mechanics.
Two special cases are the Grim Reaper and Azrael. They are technically level 5 monsters, not formal bosses, but they share the key properties: chest drops, soul stone drops, very high HP, and high regeneration. Do not let the low level fool you. They are not easy targets.
The Boss Monster Summoning Scroll
Instead of waiting for a boss to respawn naturally, you can use a Boss Monster Summoning Scroll to summon it directly. This is the main tool for organized boss farming. It removes the guesswork of respawn timers and lets you and a group farm on your schedule.
The scroll is especially useful on servers where competition for bosses is high. Rather than camping a spawn point for hours, you summon the boss when your group is ready.
Respawn times and strategy
Boss respawn times vary by boss and are documented in the official wiki. The general rule is that stronger, more sought-after bosses have longer respawns. On official servers, Razador respawns every 48 to 72 hours. On private servers, this is often cut to 6 to 12 hours or less.
When farming bosses, remember the approximate time the boss was last defeated. Coordinate with guild members to defeat bosses efficiently and distribute drops fairly.
Which bosses are worth farming
Razador is the most iconic world boss. This fire serpent patrols the higher zones of Sohan Mountain and is accessible around level 75 and above. His drops include fragments of the Dragon God Armor set, Blessing Scrolls, rare upgrade stones like Blessed Marble, and Boss Chests. On official servers, his respawn is 48 to 72 hours, so kills are rare and valuable.
Nemere is the ice giant inside Nemere's Watchtower, a level 80+ dungeon. Entry requires a ticket from quests or player trading. Nemere deals heavy physical and ice damage, and a Dragon Shaman running heals is almost mandatory. His loot includes pieces of the Nemere armor set and rare Blue Dragon equipment materials.
Hydra targets mid-game characters in the level 65 to 75 range. The Hydra dungeon is accessible from the southern sea areas and rewards players with Hydra Scales, Blessed Upgrade Stones, and occasional full armor pieces. It is a solid transition point between early-game grind routes and endgame content.
Beran-Setaou, the spider queen, drops web-themed equipment and crafting materials useful for mid-tier refines. She is less competitive than Razador and can be farmed with a duo or trio. If you are between level 60 and 70, she is one of the best value bosses in the game.
Meley's Lair is the hardest dungeon in base Metin2. It is level 85+ content with tight DPS requirements. Meley drops top-tier items but requires a geared party that knows the mechanics.
Tips for boss farming
Use a group. Boss monsters are designed for party play. Farming time drops significantly with even one partner.
Pay attention to critical resistance. Bosses have high critical chances, so optimizing your defense against crits matters.
Counter HP regeneration. With bosses like the Grim Reaper and Azrael, constant high damage is more important than occasional big hits.
Pack consumables. Potions and other items are essential when boss farming. Do not show up with half your inventory empty.
