Metin2 bonus system: what bonuses are, how to get them, and how to build your character
Bonuses are the most important part of character progression in Metin2. Every wearable item except the belt can have bonuses, and the right bonuses can make a significant difference in both PvE and PvP. This guide covers how the bonus system works and how to plan your build.
What are bonuses
Bonuses are stat modifiers attached to your equipment. They can increase your attack, defense, HP, SP, movement speed, and many other stats. Items dropped by monsters can have bonuses, and you can add or change bonuses on your own items using special materials.

The two bonus segments
There are two separate segments for bonuses:
- Bonuses 1 through 5. These are the standard bonuses. The first 4 can be added with reinforce items, and the 5th is added with a blessing marble. Adding bonuses can fail.
- Bonuses 6 and 7. These are separate from the first 5 and work differently. They are harder to obtain and change.
How to add and change bonuses
- Green Magic removes bonuses from an item and adds new ones. Only works on weapons and armor up to level 40. Not tradeable.
- Enchant Item removes bonuses and adds new ones. Only applies to bonuses 1 through 5.
- Enchant Item B is the non-tradeable version from the level chest.
- Enchant Item+ lets you preview the new bonuses before accepting them. Only applies to bonuses 1 through 5.
- Green Strength adds a new bonus to an item (up to 4 bonuses). Only works on weapons and armor up to level 40. Not tradeable.
- Default bonuses are present on the item itself and cannot be changed.
- You cannot get the same bonus as a default bonus.
- Exceptions: epic upgraded items and level 120 items with blue default bonuses can have different default bonuses.
Bonuses fall into three categories:
- Attack bonuses: strong against specific monster types, critical hit chance, attack speed, poisoning chance, bleeding attack, and more.
- Resistance bonuses: fire, lightning, wind, and magic resistance. Also includes defense against specific weapon types.
- Other bonuses: HP and SP regeneration, movement speed, casting speed, chance to avoid arrows, and stat increases (strength, intelligence, vitality, dexterity).
- Focus on bonuses that match your class. Warriors want HP and attack speed. Mages want SP and casting speed. Archers want attack speed and movement speed.
- Do not waste materials on low-level items. Wait until you have gear you plan to use for a long time.
- The 6th and 7th bonuses are powerful but hard to get. Do not expect to max them out quickly.
- Check the character window (press C) and unfold the bonus page to see your total bonus values.
