Metin2 marriage system: how to get engaged, hold the wedding, earn love points, and get a divorce
Quick summary
Marriage in Metin2 opens at level 25. It runs through the Old Lady NPC in each empire, uses an Engagement Ring from a level 25 quest, and the ceremony happens on a special Wedding Map. Once you are married, love points show up as a status icon while you and your spouse are both online, and the Guardian NPC handles divorce requests.
Getting engaged
Marriage is possible from level 25 through the Old Lady. She stands in Joan, Pyungmoo, and Yongan, and also in Dong Gwang Plain. The Engagement Ring you need comes from the level 25 quest Revenge for the Ringtrader. After the wedding, the ring turns into a Wedding Ring.
The Wedding Map
The wedding takes place on the Wedding Map, a special map that only exists for marriages. When a couple holds a wedding, every player in the kingdom can join. The map has no PvP and no PvM, and emotions are free there, so you do not need an Emotion Mask. The couple can turn on dark mode and snowfall. You leave the map by logging out and back in, and you always land on channel 1 no matter which channel you came from.
The ceremony
The Wedding Planner stands on the Wedding Map. The couple talks to her to make the marriage official. Only the couple can use her options, which include darkening the sky and starting snowfall, and ending the wedding early. Everyone in the map hears the music the couple picks.
Love points
Once you are married and both you and your spouse are online, a love points status icon appears in the top left corner of your screen. Hovering over it shows what it does and how long it lasts.
Divorce
The Guardian NPC in each village handles divorce requests. The same NPC also creates guilds above level 40 with 200,000 Yang in your possession and manages the guild treasury.
