Quick summary
The Soul Relic is a temporary, per-class item that gives you up to four bonuses while it is active. It arrived in game version 20.4, and the official wiki documents the whole loop: the quest that gives you the shard, the four Souls that charge it, and the bonus table.
Opening the relic window
The Soul Relic window sits inside your character window. Click the Relic button to open it. There is no hotkey for the window itself.
Getting your first relic
You start on Dong Gwang Plain. The first time you enter, the Village Liberation quest series opens up:
- Each village resident you rescue grants you one of the four Souls.
- Chaegirab hands you a Relic Shard at the end of the chain, and the shard crafts into a Soul Relic.
- A Soul Relic lasts between 1 and 12 hours.
- The quest chain can be repeated every 24 hours.
- The first run always succeeds. Repeat runs can fail.
One relic per class
Each class has its own Soul Relic: Warrior, Sura, Ninja, Shaman, and Lycan. The wiki states that crafting, handling, duration, and bonuses are the same for all of them.
Activating and deactivating
Ctrl+O or Ctrl+P toggles the relic. While it is active, the relic icon shows in the top left of the status bar.
Adding bonuses
Up to four bonuses can be attached to one relic. Three things to know before you spend anything:
- Adding a bonus can fail.
- Bonuses cannot be altered once they are set.
- The relic goes into the bonus window together with all four Souls, then you press Add.
Recharging
When the duration runs out or runs low, you refill the outer ring of the relic using the four Souls: Protection Soul, Sword Soul, Light Soul, and Jewelry Soul.
What the bonuses do
The wiki lists these with their value ranges and cooldowns:
- Combat buff: increases combat by 15 for X seconds, where X runs from 1 to 10. Cooldown 120 seconds.
- Elixir of the Sun or Elixir of the Moon effect during combat. Cooldown 300 seconds.
- Attacking a Metin Stone: +X% defense for 5 seconds. Cooldown 120 seconds.
- Attacking a Metin Stone: +X% damage for 5 seconds. Cooldown 120 seconds.
- When a boss is defeated, drop chance increases by X%. No cooldown.
- Mounting a ride: +X% damage for 10 seconds. Cooldown 120 seconds.
- Dismounting from a ride: +X% movement speed for 10 seconds. Cooldown 120 seconds.
- Attacking from a ride: X% chance to ride down enemies for 20 seconds. Cooldown 120 seconds.
- X% chance to reset your skill cooldowns. Cooldown 120 seconds.
- X% chance to automatically collect nearby items for 30 seconds. Cooldown 300 seconds.
- X% chance to evade death and restore 30% of your total HP. Cooldown 600 seconds.
- X% chance that surrounding monsters target you instead. Cooldown 120 seconds.
Most bonuses top out at 10%. Skill cooldown reset and auto-collect reach 15%. Evade death starts at 5% and climbs to 50%. Those ceilings are the reason to keep rolling a relic until you land the bonuses you actually use.
