Metin2 Item Shop: the three currencies, where your purchases go, and what the items cost
Quick summary
  • The Item Shop is the Metin2 cash shop. You open it from the spinning coin at the bottom left of the screen, or by pressing ESC and selecting Item Shop.
  • Most items cost Dragon Coins (DC). You get DC from DR Vouchers or by topping up with real money from the green button on the shop's main page.
  • Two more currencies exist. Dragon Marks (DM) are earned at 1 per DC you spend and are used in the Mark Items section. Tiger Coins (TC) come from TC Vouchers and are used in the Tiger Coins Shop.
  • Bought items go to the Item Shop Storeroom. Fictional chests open on purchase and buffing items appear as status icons instead, so those two never reach the storeroom.
  • Prices are in DC and they vary a lot. A pet seal is 89 DC, a costume or hairstyle is 49 DC, and the long-duration buff boxes run from 24 DC to 349 DC.
How to open the shop

The official Metin2 wiki describes two ways in. Click the spinning coin at the bottom left corner of the screen, or press ESC and select Item Shop, which is marked in yellow. The wiki also notes that the early quest A new fragrance points you at it: the Weapon Shop Dealer asks for Musk Oil and hints that you will find it by following the spinning coin, which is the shop.

The three currencies
  • Dragon Coins (DC): the main currency. You obtain DC by opening DR Vouchers, or by using real money through the green Top Up Account button on the Item Shop main page. After a successful payment the DC should arrive shortly.
  • Dragon Marks (DM): earned by spending DC, at a rate of 1 DM for every DC spent. DM is used in its own section of the shop called Mark Items.
  • Tiger Coins (TC): obtained by opening TC Vouchers. TC has its own section, the Tiger Coins Shop.
Where your purchases go

Everything you buy from the Item Shop is sent to the Item Shop Storeroom. You open it from a button in your inventory, or by talking to the Storekeeper and choosing Open Item Shop Storeroom. The password for the storeroom is the same as the one for your regular storeroom.

Two categories are the exception. Fictional chests are chests that open automatically when you buy them instead of giving you a chest item, and buffing items appear as a status icon rather than as an item. Neither is sent to the storeroom, although the contents of a fictional chest are.

Discounts, actions and the depot

The wiki describes three ways the shop runs promotions:
  • Discounts: individual items or whole categories go cheaper for a set period, usually one day. The wiki says these are announced at 18:00 the day before on the forum, and the discounted item appears in a tab on the Item Shop panel and in the game launcher.
  • Happy Hour: you receive more DC when you make a purchase, sometimes 20 percent up to 50 percent more.
  • Actions: a percentage of the total DC you spent is returned the next day.
There is also an Item Shop Depot for items won from the Tombola and the Spinning Wheel. You reach it from the User Panel in the top right of the shop and select My Item Depot. Timers on items do not run while they sit in the depot, there is no maximum number of stored items, and you can distribute them to any server within your cluster.

What the items do and what they cost

Prices below are the DC values listed on the wiki.
  • Pet seals: summon your pet, usually last 7 days, not tradeable, 89 DC.
  • Mount seals: ride your mount, usually 3 or 7 riding days, most are not tradeable, 50 or 80 DC.
  • Weapon skins: transform your weapon, usually last 15 days, tradeable in the + version only, 59 DC.
  • Hair styles: usually last 7 days, tradeable in the + version only, 49 DC.
  • Costumes: usually last 7 days, tradeable in the + version only, 49 DC.
  • Costume Bonus Transfer: moves the bonuses from one costume onto another and destroys one of the costumes, limited to 5 purchases per week, tradeable, 97 DC.
  • Bronze Box: 1 day of double EXP, double item and Yang drop, and automatic Yang pickup on your account, 24 DC.
  • Silver Box: the same buffs for 3 days, 59 DC.
  • Gold Box: the same buffs for 15 days, 219 DC.
  • Diamond Box: the same buffs for 30 days, 349 DC.
  • Starter packages: Small 129 DC, Medium 249 DC, Large 499 DC, each containing storage, elixirs and a seal.
The boxes are fictional chests and the buffs are displayed as status icons, which is why they never appear in the storeroom.
