Quick summary
  • Update 26.2 adds instanced solo dungeons. These are "Infernal" versions of existing dungeons with new access requirements, different levels, varied mechanics and new rewards.
  • The first one is the Infernal Dungeon: Depths of Greed, with five difficulty levels and a 30 minute completion timer.
  • Entry needs level 75 or higher, a completed access quest, a valid entry ticket, and the character cannot be in a group.
  • A completed run guarantees one Yin or Yang Seal, plus experience and Yang. Level 5 also grants a Seal Fragment.
  • Yin talents act as triggers and Yang talents modify the Yin talent they are linked with. Matching keywords link automatically.
  • Three new aura variants were added alongside the dungeon, and the existing Aura Outfit was renamed the Power Aura.
Infernal Dungeons

Access requirements, as listed in the changelog:
  • Character level 75 or higher
  • Completed access quest
  • A valid entry ticket in the inventory
  • The character cannot be in a group, because this is a solo dungeon
Entry tickets are crafted two ways. Combination crafting uses any three Passage Tickets or Yohara Entry tickets for a level 1 ticket, with a 70% success chance. Three entry tickets of the same level (1 to 5) can also be combined for a 70% chance at the next level up, and tickets made this way can carry a random dungeon modifier. Direct crafting skips the gamble but costs more: any 3 Passage Tickets or 200 Infernal Slayer's Seals for level 1, 9x Passage Tickets for level 2, 27x for level 3, 81x for level 4 and 243x for level 5. Directly crafted tickets cannot have dungeon modifiers.

The Infernal Dungeon: Depths of Greed has five difficulty levels. Higher levels are harder and pay better, and they cap how many times you can resurrect:
  • Level 1: unlimited resurrections
  • Level 2: 8 resurrections
  • Level 3: 5 resurrections
  • Level 4: 3 resurrections
  • Level 5: 3 resurrections
Monster level scales with your character level, you need a ticket of the matching level to enter, and you have 30 minutes to clear the dungeon.

Dungeon modifiers, when a ticket carries one, change how the run plays:
  • Invasion: Metin stones appear in the dungeon
  • Seal Break: the drop chance for Infernal Slayer's Seals increases
  • Loot Luck: increased chance of additional items
  • Weakness: monsters have the same HP as the next lowest level
  • Feeble: monsters deal the same damage as the next lowest level
  • Lucky Devil: the dungeon rewards equal those of the next highest level
  • Elemental Conversion: enemies' elements are changed
Rewards

Every successful completion guarantees one Yin or Yang Seal, and you have to claim or discard it before your next successful run or the previous one is overwritten. You claim it from the Summoning Staff after the dungeon, or from the Taoist at any time. Level 5 runs also grant one Seal Fragment. Experience and Yang are guaranteed too.

On top of that there is a chance at an entry ticket for the level just completed and crafting materials for Infernal costumes.

The ten fastest completions go into a ranking list you can view by talking to the Taoist. Gear is shown for top-ranked players only if they agreed to make it public after finishing, and it is private by default. The top three players get an exclusive title for 30, 14 and 7 days respectively, and the rankings reset regularly.

Infernal costumes are crafted with the Taoist. Each one costs 15x Infernal Slayer's Seals, 5,000,000 Yang and an Infernal Whetstone, Infernal Plate or Infernal Leather. All materials drop from the Infernal Dungeon: Depths of Greed. Costumes last 12 hours, grant +5% Strong against Infernal Monsters, and wearing all of them together adds a set bonus of +15% Strong against Infernal Monsters.

The Yin and Yang system

Seals carry talents that apply to equipment. The changelog splits them into two roles:
  • Yin talents function as triggers. When the situation they describe arises, the effect of the linked Yang seal fires. A Yin talent can have its own effect when activated, though some only act as triggers. Yin talents go on weapons and gloves.
  • Yang talents modify the Yin talent they are in harmony with. A Yang talent cannot trigger on its own. Yang talents go on weapons, gloves, helmets, armour or shoes.
  • If Yin and Yang talents share a keyword, they link automatically in harmony. If several talents are in harmony, only the strongest effect applies.
  • Like other equipment modifiers, seals cannot be applied to gear bound with a Scroll of Binding.
You acquire seals by completing the Infernal Dungeon at any level, and 30x Seal Fragments can be exchanged for a random seal from the Taoist. Seal Fragments are tradeable.

The Yin and Yang window opens through the Taoist. You place equipment on the left, the seal in the middle, and a preview of the result appears on the right. After choosing a seal, equipment with a matching keyword is highlighted in your inventory or equipment window. Storage slots sit at the bottom of the window, with five available by default. Storage expands through the Taoist's repeatable quest (+5 slots) or Seal Expansion Tickets from the item shop (+10 slots). Unneeded seals can be deleted to free space.

The most recently acquired seal is shown at the bottom and you either store it or ignore it. If you pick up a new seal before storing the last one, the old one is permanently overwritten, and after 24 hours the most recent seal is deleted automatically.

A Yin and Yang Bag works like the Transport Box for pets. Seals go in and come out later, the bag can be traded, and full bags disappear after 30 days.

The Harmony window opens from a button in the equipment window or with the Y key. Hovering the button shows your currently equipped and linked talents as a tooltip, and the window lists every Yin and Yang link on your gear. Effects can be activated and deactivated there, similar to Dragon Stone Alchemy: talents run for a limited time via the button or the CTRL+Y shortcut. Extending that time needs a Temporal Stone, which you get by dismantling Yin or Yang seals with a Seal Hammer. The Seal Hammer costs 5,000,000 Yang from the Taoist, and a Temporal Stone extends activation by 1 to 12 hours, up to a maximum total of 24 hours.

Aura changes in the same update

Three new auras were added: Mask Aura, Talisman Aura and Wing Aura. They look different from each other but are otherwise functionally identical to the existing Aura Outfit, which has been renamed the Power Aura. The aura level naming from Ordinary to Radiant also changes to Roman numerals. A new Aura Style option at Theowahdan changes an aura's appearance, and the changelog says availability for the new auras will be announced separately.

What a private server has to implement

The changelog is the reference for all of the above, and the parts that need code rather than configuration are:
  • A new instanced solo dungeon type with per-level settings, resurrection limits, a completion timer and randomly rolled modifiers.
  • Two new talent types with keywords and harmony linking, applied to specific equipment slots, with the rule that only the strongest effect in harmony applies.
  • A new NPC, the Taoist, carrying a repeatable quest, a shop and a seal exchange.
  • New items and currencies: Infernal Slayer's Seals, Seal Fragments, Infernal Whetstones, Plates and Leather, Temporal Stones and Seal Hammers.
  • A ranking table with timed title rewards and per-player opt-in for showing gear.
  • A tradeable bag with a 30 day expiry for full bags, plus a 24 hour auto-delete on unclaimed seals.
  • Activation timers on talents that consume a consumable item to extend.
