Every item in Metin2 carries four flags that decide what you can do with it: tradeable, dropable, storable, and stackable. They are not cosmetic. They determine whether you can sell the item, leave it on the ground, put it away, or pile fifty of them in one slot. This goes through each flag, then covers where items actually live when they are not on your character.
The four flags
Every item page lists the same four columns, and an item can be yes on some and no on others. The Trading Glass page shows them side by side on its own item entry: tradeable, dropable, storable, and stackable.
The wiki names the flags but does not define them in prose, so read them by what they unlock rather than by a description.
- Tradeable is the one with documented consequences. Only items that are tradeable are listed in the Trading Glass, and only tradeable items can be placed in a private shop. If an item is not tradeable, it cannot change hands through either route.
- Dropable is the flag that governs whether the item can be left on the ground. An item that is not dropable does not go to another player that way.
- Storable is the flag tied to the Item Shop storeroom, the place the Item-Shop page describes for items you are not carrying.
- Stackable governs whether multiple copies share one slot. A stackable material and a single unstackable weapon take a very different amount of space.
If an item is tradeable, three things become possible.
- It appears in the Trading Glass, which lets you search for and immediately buy a specific item near you.
- You can place it in a private shop for another player to buy.
- It shows up in the Looking Glass and Trading Glass listings of what is for sale.
Private shop limits
Anyone can open a shop regardless of level. The only restriction is that it has to be opened in the Bazaar map, and at a certain distance from NPCs.
You need a Bundle to open one. A regular Bundle comes from the General Store Saleswoman and has 40 inventory slots. A Kashmir Bundle comes from the Item-Shop for 9 DC or 50 DM, has 80 slots, remembers the price of an item you placed before, and lets you pick shop layouts and banners.
To use a Bundle you have to take your armour off first. The shop value cannot exceed what one player can hold, which the wiki gives as 1.999.999.999 Yang or 3000 Won.
Items sold are taxed 3%, or 1% if you are in an offline shop.
Reading the price colours
The shop list colours each item by price, which is useful when you are scanning a crowded Bazaar:
- Items sold under 49.999 Yang are displayed grey
- Items sold between 50.000 and 499.999 Yang are displayed white
- Items sold above 500.000 Yang are displayed yellow
- Items sold for Won are displayed blue
- If an item displays a red colour, you do not have enough money
The Item Shop has a storeroom. You buy items there, then distribute the ones you want into the storeroom.
Two rules make it useful. Any item that has a timer stops running while it sits in the depot, so time-limited items do not burn down in storage. And there is no maximum amount of items that can be stored in the depot.
