Metin2 polymorph system: the marbles, the three books, and the level P cap

What polymorph is
Polymorph lets a player transform into certain monsters. Transformed players can use it as a tactic to defeat bosses or to attack other players.
The marble
The transformation needs a Polymorph Marble. Only specific monsters can be used as polymorphs, and those monsters drop polymorph marbles of their own kind.
You can view your current polymorph level in the skill tab (V), on the polymorph skill. The maximum level is P, and the higher the level, the longer the polymorph lasts and the more damage it inflicts on opponents.
Raising the level with books
The polymorph level increases by reading books, and you need one book per level.
Not all polymorphs are equally strong. The type of monster decides the damage, and the attack range and speed matter too. The wiki rates each known marble's movement speed, attack speed and attack range with stars, where more full stars means faster.
The list runs from level 1 monsters up to level 126. A few entries are only obtainable from chests rather than drops: the Wild Dog marble also comes from the Iron Combat Zone Chest, and the Zi, Chou, Yin, Mao, Chen, Si, Wu, Wei, Shen, You, Xu and Hai Officer marbles come only from the Golden Zodiac Chest.

- Level gate. Any player level can use a polymorph marble as long as the monster's level is not higher than the player. At level 120 or in champion levels you can use any marble, even one from a higher-level monster.
- The timer icon. Using a marble puts a status icon in the upper left corner showing the time left before the transformation closes automatically.
- Death cancels it. If you die while transformed, the transformation is canceled.
- Duration scales with level. How long a polymorph lasts depends on the level of the skill.
You can view your current polymorph level in the skill tab (V), on the polymorph skill. The maximum level is P, and the higher the level, the longer the polymorph lasts and the more damage it inflicts on opponents.
- Level 0. 5 seconds, +200 percent attack value.
- Level 1 to G10. 10 minutes.
- Level P. 35 minutes.
Raising the level with books
The polymorph level increases by reading books, and you need one book per level.
- Level 1 to M1. Polymorph Book.
- Level M1 to G1. Advanced Polymorph Book.
- Level G1 to P. Master Polymorph Book.
- Monster Card polymorphs are weaker. Polymorphs from the Monster Card System deal far less damage than polymorph marbles.
- Attack bonuses do not help. Potions or items and bonuses with an attack value do not increase polymorph damage. Blue Dew is the wiki's own example.
- Active skills are dropped. Any skill activated before using the marble is deactivated, Enchanted Blade being the example given.
- The one exception. The Hwacha Polymorph Marble is unlike the others: it lets you transform back and forth as many times as you want during the marble's time limit.
Not all polymorphs are equally strong. The type of monster decides the damage, and the attack range and speed matter too. The wiki rates each known marble's movement speed, attack speed and attack range with stars, where more full stars means faster.
