Metin2 soulbound items: what binding does, the two scrolls and their prices, and the 72 hour unbind
Quick summary
Metin2 has a binding system that ties equipment to your character. A bound item cannot be traded, dropped, upgraded, enchanted or sold. You bind with a Scroll of Binding and unbind with a Scroll of Unbinding. Both scrolls are sold by the General Store Saleswoman. Unbinding takes 72 hours unless you use a Scroll of Unbinding+.

What binding does
The wiki lists five effects: the item becomes untradeable, it cannot be dropped, it cannot be upgraded, it cannot be enchanted, and it cannot be sold.
The Scroll of Binding's own description says it "binds an item of your choice to your character's soul" and that soulbound items cannot be traded, dropped or enchanted.

The two scrolls
  • Scroll of Binding: 100,000 Yang, from the General Store Saleswoman.
  • Scroll of Unbinding: 300,000 Yang, from the General Store Saleswoman.
The 72 hour wait
Unbinding an item takes 72 hours, which is 3 days. A Scroll of Unbinding+ removes the bind immediately instead.

Two catches
  • Binding can only be used on equipment.
  • Characters with equipped soulbound items cannot be deleted.
You can bind an item again with a Scroll of Binding while it is in the unbinding process.

When it arrived
The binding system was first introduced on September 30th 2014.
