Metin2 Combo: the level cap, the level 30 and 50 unlocks, the three books, and why the wiki page is thin

Quick summary
Combo is a secondary skill that inserts extra hits into your attack chain before the final hit. Its maximum level is 2, and the two levels are gated behind player level 30 and player level 50. Three different books can teach it and they are interchangeable. The catch is that reading any of them costs 20,000 EXP points, which is why the wiki tells you it does not matter which book you pick. The English wiki page itself is a stub, so most of the detail below comes from the item pages, not from the skill page.
What Combo actually does
The Metin2 wiki defines it in one line: the secondary skill Combo allows you to deal additional hits before the final hit, and it gives the example of the last hit that pushes players and monsters away. So the skill does not add a new attack of its own; it lengthens the chain that ends with the knockback hit.
The level is visible in the skill tab, which the wiki gives as V.
Levels and the level gates
The Combo page lists three books and states that it does not matter which book you use:
Cost, origin and flags
The Combo books only drop through Alternative Drop, and the wiki's Alternative Drop page splits that into three types:
Using the skill
The Combo page gives two activation methods: right-click the Combo symbol in the skill tab, or move the symbol to the fast access field and trigger it from the keyboard. The page does not describe any cooldown, resource cost or interaction with individual class skills, and the item pages do not add any either.
What the sources do not settle
Is Combo a class skill? No. The wiki calls it a secondary skill, and it lists no class restriction. The level gates are player level, not class level.
Do the three books stack? The wiki says it does not matter which book you use, and each book upgrades the skill to level 1 or 2 rather than adding separate levels. Nothing on the pages suggests reading two books pushes past the level 2 cap.
Does the 20,000 EXP come out of my level? The pages state the reading requirement as 20,000 EXP points, not Yang. The wiki does not say whether that EXP is drawn from your progress bar or from a stored pool, so I would not guess.
Can I buy the books from the item mall? Not according to the wiki. The only origin listed is monster drops through Alternative Drop, and the flags show tradable and private shop as yes, which means the player market is the realistic route.
Why am I not getting them? The Alternative Drop rule is the likely reason: being 10 or more levels above the monster you kill makes the drop very rare. The books also come only from the old continent monster range the wiki names.

Levels and the level gates
- Maximum level: 2.
- Level 1 grants one additional hit before the final hit.
- Level 2 grants two additional hits.
- Level 1 can be learnt from player level 30.
- Level 2 can be learnt from player level 50.
The Combo page lists three books and states that it does not matter which book you use:
- Art of Combo
- Combo Master Book
- Combo Mastery
Cost, origin and flags
- Reading requires 20,000 EXP points, on all three books.
- Origin: Monsters, specifically Alternative Drop, on the old continent, from all monsters between rank 1 and 4 and player level 1 to 120.
- Tradable at NPC: yes. Tradeable in the trade window: yes. Private shop: yes. Mailbox: yes.
- Dropable: yes. Storable: yes. Stackable: no.
- Shop search category: Skills/Other.
- None of the three is used in a quest.
The Combo books only drop through Alternative Drop, and the wiki's Alternative Drop page splits that into three types:
- Alternative Drop: obtainable from every opponent, it does not matter which one.
- Alternative Drop 2: only obtainable from a certain level band. The wiki's example is the Blessing Scroll, which requires level 50 or more.
- Alternative Drop 3: obtainable from every opponent regardless of level, with no special level requirement. The wiki's example is Yang.

The page does not describe any cooldown, resource cost or interaction with individual class skills, and the item pages do not add any either.
What the sources do not settle
- The English Combo page is a stub. It has no section on how the extra hits interact with specific class skills, no cooldown, and no damage note.
- The item pages say the book upgrades the skill to level 1 or 2, but they do not say which book gives which level. The skill page's level 30 and level 50 gates are player level gates, not book gates, so the natural reading is that any book you read before level 50 will only take you to level 1.
- The wiki page was last edited on 18 January 2026, so the numbers reflect that revision.
