Metin2 level 10 first mount: the Riding Permit, the ten minute ticket, and the Apprentice Chest II
Posted: Sat Oct 24, 2026 8:21 pm
Quick summary
This is the level 10 first-mount path, which is a different thing from the horse and mount systems already on this board. The level 10 route is three items: a Riding Permit from the Hunting Quests, a Horse Riding Ticket that lasts ten minutes, and an Apprentice Chest II that is handed to you on first login and only opens once you reach level 10. The chest is what gives you the Appaloosa seal for seven days.
The Riding Permit
The Riding Permit is a chest item. Its description reads: open it to receive your Horse Riding Ticket, and from level 10 you can use that to ride a Pony for a while. The wiki's origin field lists it under Hunting Quests, and its content table has exactly one entry, the Horse Riding Ticket, with no armour, weapon, accessory or other item in the box. One line on the page adds that the ticket from this chest lasts for ten minutes even if you do not use it.
The permit itself is tradeable, dropable, storable and stackable, and it can be sent through the trade window, a private shop or the mailbox.
The Horse Riding Ticket
The Apprentice Chest II
The wiki says this chest will only open once you have reached level 10, and it is given automatically on first login rather than dropped or bought. Every flag in its tradeable, dropable, storable and stackable row is No, and the page notes that the item cannot be found in Shop Search, so you cannot buy your way around waiting for it.
Its contents are a seven day Appaloosa seal, an Apprentice Chest III, and the rest of the starter kit:
The Stable Boy NPC page is where the level 10 step actually happens. Its function list reads: from level 10, you can ride a Pony if you give him a Horse Riding Ticket, and from level 25 you can start Horse quests. In the additional information column it also says he can extend your Appaloosa, and that he revives a dead Horse if you give him the correct Monkey Herb.
His coordinates on the page are 549, 610 for Bokjung in Joan, 445, 276 for Pyungmoo in Bakra, 718, 577 for Yongan in Yayang, and 754, 1045 for Cape Dragon Fire in Dong Gwang Plain. The two level 29 and level 47 horse quests, The broken porcelain and The stables are in trouble, hang off this NPC too.
Where the Appaloosa seal comes from
One awkward thing about this item is that the seal's own wiki page does not exist. The Apprentice Chest II page lists it under its internal name, Appaloosa (seal), with a seven day duration, but following that link leads to a page that says there is currently no text in this page. So the duration and the source are on the chest page, not on the seal page, and any description of what the Appaloosa actually does is not printed by the English wiki at all.
What this does not cover
Three related subjects already have their own topics on this board, so this post stops short of them. Metin2 mounts, published earlier today, covers the level 75 seal mounts, the Rotten Wooden Box, the four basic seals and the special seal list. The horse system post covers the four horse tiers, horse levels 1 to 40 and the skills you unlock. The horse basics post covers Call Horse chances and horse care. This post is only the level 10 entry path.
FAQ
Can I ride before level 10?
No. Both the Riding Permit description and the Stable Boy's function list put the gate at level 10.
Is the ticket ten minutes of riding or ten minutes of ownership?
Ownership. The wiki says the ticket lasts 10 minutes in real time upon receiving it, and the Riding Permit page says the same, that the ticket lasts for ten minutes even if you do not use it.
Does the Apprentice Chest II disappear?
The wiki does not give it an expiry, and it is not tradeable, so it stays in your inventory until you open it at level 10.
Where do I get the Riding Permit?
From Hunting Quests. The wiki's origin field lists it under that quest type. The Hunting Quests page itself describes the level 2 to 10 table and notes that a level up gained from a hunting quest means you receive no hunting quest for that level.
Can I mail a Horse Riding Ticket to another character?
No. The ticket page marks the mailbox column as No.
