Metin2 Combat Zone: the level 50 PvP map, Battle Points, and where the English and German wiki pages disagree
Quick summary

The Combat Zone is a level 50 PvP map where everyone is attackable. You earn Battle Points by killing other players and you spend them at the Combat Zone Overseer. The English and German wiki pages disagree on three of the most important rules, the points per kill, the exit timer and the death penalty, so this post quotes both and says what changes between them.

Entry
  • Level: 50 and above.
  • Entrance: the B button under the mini map. The German page says an E in that button means an event is running, and a button that is not highlighted means entry is not possible at that moment.
  • Opening times: the English page says only that you can enter during the specified opening times. The German page prints a daily table, Monday and Tuesday 18:00 to 21:00, Wednesday to Friday 19:00 to 22:00, Saturday and Sunday 22:00 to 23:00.
  • Cost: the German page states that no fee or item is needed to enter.
  • Dungeon: neither page allows entry from inside a dungeon.
  • Spawn: several spawn points exist and yours is chosen at random.
What the map does to you
  • Your name, kingdom and guild name are hidden.
  • PvP mode is set to Free automatically. The German page adds that you lose no rank points for a kill.
  • You cannot use items that teleport you.
  • No private shops and no private messages, according to the German page.
  • All skills are set to level P, according to the German page.
  • Lower level players get extra defence to close the gap, and the German page says the bonus falls away between level 50 and level 120.
Earning and losing Battle Points
  • The English page gives 2 points for killing an opponent. The German page gives 1 point for the same action, so the two do not agree on the rate.
  • Die and you lose your Battle Points. The English page says all of them. The German page says half of them, and adds that a player with under 5 points can leave the map directly after dying.
  • Battle Points buy items from the Combat Zone Overseer NPC. The German page calls the same NPC the Kampfzonen-Meister, which is the name to expect in a German client.
  • The English page mentions a single use Reincarnation item, collected with Battle Points, that shortens the restart wait. The German page names the same item and says it removes the respawn wait entirely.
Leaving the map

This is where the two pages disagree most.
  • The exit button sits in the interface, which the German page says opens with the B button.
  • No points: you leave at once on both pages.
  • With points: the English page starts an exit timer and says you must survive 10 minutes, opponents are told in chat, your movement speed drops, and your position shows on the mini map. The German page says you must survive 2 minutes, that a blinking arrow marks you, and that your movement speed is reduced to 130.
  • Cancelling: the English page says the request cannot be cancelled unless you die, and you lose the Battle Points you earned. The German page says the same but that you lose half of them.
  • After leaving, you are ported to the first map of your own kingdom.
Respawn wait and rankings
  • Restart wait: the English page gives 10 seconds and says it rises by 5 seconds each time you die, up to 30 seconds, resetting when you complete the exit procedure. The German page gives the same 5 second step and 30 second cap but no base value.
  • On death you choose to restart here, which puts you back on the same spot, or restart in the city, which puts you at a random spot.
  • The English page says a client restart, intentional or not, throws you out of the map and costs you all your Battle Points.
  • The score amassed is renewed daily at midnight. The weekly score is reset at midnight every seven days.
  • The top three weekly scores get a coat of arms for first, second and third place. The German page describes the same prize as a symbol shown above the winner's head until the next ranking.
  • The German page adds a second, all time ranking: the Gesamtrangliste keeps every Combat Zone point you have ever banked, and the weekly list resets every Sunday at midnight.
The repeatable mission and the ore veins
  • Every six hours you can take the Special Potion mission from the Combat Zone Overseer, which gives three Battle Potions. The German page calls the NPC the Kampfzonen-Meister and says the potions raise attack, defence and hit points.
  • The map has ore veins for diamond, emerald, garnet, ruby, sapphire, soul crystal and tourmaline, per the English page.
Which page to trust

The German page carries the daily opening hours, the movement speed number, the private shop and message bans, the skill reset to level P, the defence bonus, the 1 point per kill rate, the half loss on death and the all time ranking. The English page carries the 2 points per kill, the 10 second base restart wait, the daily and weekly reset times, the coat of arms and the ore vein list. The two disagree on the exit timer, 10 minutes against 2 minutes, on the death penalty, all points against half, and on the points per kill, 2 against 1. I would test the exit timer on the server I play before trusting either number, because the German page is the one that prints a concrete speed value and a daily schedule, which suggests it was written against a live client.
