Metin2 hides a lot behind keyboard shortcuts, and the game does not always tell you which key does what. This is the interface as the official wiki documents it, with the key that opens each window.
The main screen
- I opens the inventory. The currency window opens with it, showing Gaya, Won, and Yang.
- C opens the character tab, which holds your stats and the buttons for titles, relics, and bonuses.
- V opens the skill tab.
- B opens the emotions tab. You need an Emotion Mask to use the emotions.
- N opens the quests tab.
- M opens the large map. SHIFT + M closes the mini map.
- L opens the chatbox, where you can scroll back and filter channels.
- P opens the pet window, O opens Dragon Stone Alchemy, and J opens the Monster Card window.
- K opens Auto-Hunt.
- ALT + G opens the guild window and ALT + M opens the community window.
- CTRL + E opens the events overview.
- SHIFT + J opens group search.
- ESC opens settings once every other window is closed.
- SHIFT + 1 through SHIFT + 4 switch the fast access field between its four pages.
Four bars sit along the bottom of the screen. HP is your health, SP is spent on skills, and the ST bar is stamina. Walking drains stamina, and when it is empty you walk slowly for a few seconds until it comes back. The fourth meter is your energy level, which needs an Energy Crystal to fill.
The fast access field holds skills, potions, and seals. Drag items onto it, or press CTRL and left click. Clicking the middle button on that field reveals extra system buttons, including the merc UI.
The inventory
The inventory has numbered slots for weapons, helmets, talismans, arrows, armour, shields, earrings, bracelets, necklaces, shoes, belts, and gloves. Two slots take special items such as an Experience Ring or a Nazar Amulet. You can unlock two more inventory pages and a second equipment page with an Extra Equipment Page, and the belt inventory sits inside it for any item.
The skill tab
The skill tab shows your subclass name, your remaining skill points, and your learned skills. You get one skill point per level. Each subclass has 6 default skills, a 7th Ward Skill unlocked by a Ward Manual, an 8th Boost Skill unlocked by a Boost Manual, and a 9th skill unlocked at Champion level.
Every skill has three stages shown as three squares: level 0 to 19, M1 to M10, and G1 to P. You can spread 3 skill points before M1, except on the 9th skill. Promotion to M1 happens between skill level 17 and 20, and the wiki recommends promoting at 17 to avoid wasted points. If a skill does not promote, a Book of Forgetfulness returns the point so you can reinvest it. From M1 you need books to reach G1, and from G1 you need a Soul Stone, a Soul Stone+, or a Talent Potion to reach P.
Chat channels
The chatbox colours tell you where a message came from.
- White: regular chat, open to everyone
- Green: call chat, for players above level 15, typed with an exclamation mark first
- Blue: group chat, for party members, typed with a hash first
- Yellow: guild chat, typed with a percent sign first
- Orange: system chat, used by the system and staff
The community window
ALT + M opens the community window, which is where you block and report other players. The large map, opened with M, shows your location and the surrounding area, and each map drops a specific piece that the wiki lists on the same page.
