Metin2 Champion Levels and Yohara: the 30 post-120 levels, Sung Ma's Will, and how to get there

Quick summary
  • Level 120 is not the ceiling. The Conquerors of Yohara expansion adds 30 Champion Levels on the new continent.
  • Champion EXP only comes from the Yohara maps, from monsters or quests.
  • Champions get four new stats called Sung Ma's Will, plus a stat called Precision.
  • Each full Champion EXP Marble gives points you distribute across those stats.
  • Entry needs level 120, one more filled EXP Marble, the Ship Defence quest with the Hydra, and a talk with the harbour statue.
  • Champion Levels show above your head in blue. Normal levels show in yellow.
The four steps to Champion Level 1
  • Level your character to level 120.
  • Fill one more EXP Marble.
  • Complete the Ship Defence by defeating the Hydra.
  • Speak with the harbour statue.
From there you start at Champion Level 1 and can climb to Champion Level 30. [1]

Where the EXP comes from

EXP towards Champion Levels can only be earned on the new continent, either by defeating monsters or by completing quests. Drops and Yang in the old world are handled the same way they were at level 120. [1]

Two details catch people out. Learning from skill books costs old-world EXP. And if you die and lose EXP, that loss hits your Champion EXP. [1]

Sung Ma's Will

As a Champion you improve one of four new stats with each full EXP Marble. The four are RES, INT, VIT, and STR, and the expansion ties them to the will of the Demon God Sung Mahi. Every monster and every map on the new continent has corresponding stats. [1]

If your Sung Ma's Will is too low, four things happen. [1]
  • You move slower, which is RES.
  • You have more trouble killing monsters, which is STR.
  • You take deductions to your HP, which is VIT.
  • You are more susceptible to negative status effects, which is INT.
The higher your Sung Ma's Will, the better your chances against the monsters and the faster you move. Champions get an extra page in the character profile that shows the new attributes. The page is visible before you become a Champion, but you cannot raise the stats there yet. [1]

Precision

Precision is the stat that reflects how reliably you can hit the monsters on the new continent. You can develop the corresponding new skill or equip corresponding equipment to raise it. [1]

The new maps
  • Abandoned Fortress
  • Dong Gwang Plain
  • Seo Gwang Wastelands
  • Nam Gwang Chasm
Sung Mahi's minions keep erecting new outposts to secure the demon god's control over the land. Destroy the outposts before they are all finished, because that also influences your own stats. [1]

The 9th skill

Every discipline gets a new skill on the road to Yohara, learnable after you become a Champion. The announcement names Storm Shot, Death Wave, and Aether Ward. You can use the 9th skill outside the new continent as well. [1]

Learning it needs the matching skill books for your discipline, and Talent Potions to improve it. Skill books drop from monsters or Metin stones on Yohara. Talent Potions come from Metin stones or boss monsters on the new continent and in Sung Mahi Tower. [1]

Dungeons

Gnoll Caves sits on the Dong Gwang Plain and needs a Passage Ticket. It is a three zone maze with a boss at the end, and the deeper you go the stronger your Sung Ma's Will should be. Rewards include crafting materials for gloves and Skull Banners, which you need to enter the tower. [1]

Sung Mahi Tower is 50 levels with 3 rooms each, and you run it alone. Each room has tasks as well as combat, and you get a reward for every completed level. The announcement carries a note that the tower is disabled at the start of the expansion. [1]

Guild territories

New guild territories appear on the Dong Gwang Plain, and some buildings can only be constructed there. You need them for the new systems, such as refining jadite ore. [1]

The auction works on highest bid, not fastest bid. A guild leader places a bid in the land auction. To keep the land you pay the lease regularly. If you do not pay enough Yang after 10 days, the land is abandoned automatically and auctioned again. [1]

Existing guild territories move to the same principle. Land that a guild already developed stays in their possession after the update, but it still has to be paid for on time or it goes to auction. The announcement gives 9 days after the update to pay. [1]

New items
  • Talismans and Spirit Stones raise your Sung Ma's Will.
  • Necklaces, earrings, and bracelets can be created from new materials mined from jadite ore veins on Yohara.
  • The main quest sequence gives a Glove Licence, which unlocks a new equipment slot. Gloves strengthen Sung Ma's Will and can be fitted with Spirit Stones.
  • Soul Relics are tied to the character, not to equipment. Combine a Sword Soul, Protection Soul, Jewellery Soul, and Light Soul from the new quests with a class specific Soul Relic from Chaegirab for bonuses that last up to 12 hours. After that you recharge the relic with matching souls. The overview sits in a new tab in your character profile, and the bonuses also help in old world battles.
  • Equipment dropped after the update carries random stats instead of a fixed attack value or a fixed attack speed per weapon type. Two items that look identical can differ where it matters.
New biologist quests

Chaegirab the biologist continues his research on the new continent. Collect Metin Crystals, Purified Cores, and Shadowferns for him, and the reward is a permanent bonus to your Sung Ma's Will. [1]
