Metin2 Depths of Greed: the level 75 entry, the five difficulty levels, the resurrection limits, and the costume costs
Quick summary
  • The Infernal Dungeon: Depths of Greed is the first of the new instanced solo dungeons. It is a solo dungeon, so you cannot enter in a group.
  • Entry needs character level 75 or higher, the access quest completed, and a valid entry ticket in your inventory.
  • There are five difficulty levels. Higher level means harder monsters and better rewards.
  • Resurrections are unlimited at level 1, then 8, 5, 3 and 3 for levels 2 through 5.
  • You must defeat all monsters within 30 minutes.
  • The guaranteed reward is one Yin or Yang Seal, plus experience and Yang. Level 5 adds one Seal Fragment.
  • Crafting Infernal costumes costs 15 Infernal Slayer's Seals, 5,000,000 Yang and a Whetstone, Plate or Leather, and each costume lasts 12 hours.
The dungeon

The update that introduced it describes the Infernal dungeons as instanced solo dungeons, 'Infernal' versions of existing dungeons, with new access requirements, different levels, varied mechanics and new rewards. The most important rewards are seals for the new Yin and Yang system. The first of them is the Infernal Dungeon: Depths of Greed.

Access requirements
  • Character level 75 or higher.
  • The access quest completed.
  • A valid entry ticket in your inventory.
  • You cannot be in a group. This is a solo dungeon.
The level of the monsters inside adjusts to your character level, and entering requires an entry ticket of the matching level.

Getting an entry ticket

There are two ways to craft tickets, and the difference between them matters.
  • Combination crafting. A level 1 ticket comes from combining any three Passage Tickets or Yohara Entry tickets, with a 70% success chance.
  • You can also combine three of your own Depths of Greed tickets. They must be the same level, 1 to 5, and you have a 70% chance to receive a ticket of the next highest level. Tickets made this way can come with a random dungeon modifier.
  • Direct crafting. Level 1 costs any 3 Passage Tickets or 200 Infernal Slayer's Seals, which drop from Infernal dungeons and Aamon's Lavish Chest. Level 2 costs 9 Passage Tickets, level 3 costs 27, level 4 costs 81 and level 5 costs 243.
  • Tickets crafted directly cannot have dungeon modifiers.
So the combination route is the one that can hand you a modifier, and the direct route is the safe, deterministic one.

Difficulty and resurrections

The dungeon comes in five difficulty levels. The higher the level, the greater the difficulty and the better the rewards.

At the higher levels the number of resurrections is limited:
  • Level 1: unlimited resurrections
  • Level 2: 8 resurrections
  • Level 3: 5 resurrections
  • Level 4: 3 resurrections
  • Level 5: 3 resurrections
You have to defeat all monsters within 30 minutes to complete it. That window, not the monster count, is what decides whether the run counts.

Dungeon modifiers

A ticket that carries a modifier adds effects to the run. The seven possible modifiers are:
  • Invasion: Metin stones appear in the dungeon.
  • Seal Break: the chance for Infernal Slayer's Seals to drop increases.
  • Loot Luck: increased chance of additional items.
  • Weakness: monsters have the same HP as those in the next lowest level.
  • Feeble: monsters deal the same damage as those in the next lowest level.
  • Lucky Devil: the dungeon rewards equal those of the next highest level.
  • Elemental Conversion: enemies' elements are changed.
Weakness and Feeble make a run easier, Lucky Devil makes it pay better, and the rest change what you have to deal with. A ticket carrying a modifier is a different run from a clean one.

Rewards

Every successful completion guarantees one Yin or Yang Seal, plus experience and Yang. At level 5 you also get one Seal Fragment.

The seal is not automatic. You must either claim or discard it before your next successful run, otherwise the previous one is overwritten. The window appears when you interact with the Summoning Staff after a successful clear, or you can talk to the Taoist at any time.

On top of that there is a chance to get one entry ticket for the level you just finished, and crafting materials for Infernal costumes.

Rankings

The ten fastest dungeon completions are shown in a ranking list, which you view by talking to the Taoist.

The list can show the gear used by the top-ranked players, but only if they agreed to have that information displayed publicly after completing the dungeon. Gear information is private by default.

The top three ranked players receive an exclusive title for 30, 14 and 7 days respectively, and the rankings are reset regularly.

Infernal costumes

You can craft weapon, armour and helmet costumes with the Taoist. Each one requires 15 Infernal Slayer's Seals, 5,000,000 Yang, and an Infernal Whetstone, Infernal Plate or Infernal Leather. All of those materials come from completing the Depths of Greed.
  • All costumes have a 12 hour duration.
  • Each costume grants +5% Strong against Infernal Monsters.
  • All costumes together grant an additional set bonus of +15% Strong against Infernal Monsters.
The cave itself

The wiki describes the older Depths of Greed as a cave entered from Moonshadow Vale through the Depths of Greed NPC, using a Yohara Entry or a Yohara Entry (B). You leave by going back to the starting point and talking to the teleport NPC.

Halfway through the cave there is a steep slope that leads to stronger monsters with high experience and Yang. Occasionally you can run into the Omen of Greed, a Metin stone that gives a buff to all players who helped destroy it. At the deepest point you can challenge Aamon by entering the Heart of Greed if you meet the conditions.
