Metin2 shoulder sash system: slot 6, the four grades, the absorption rates, and the Certificate of Reversal
  • Where it lives. The shoulder sash goes into slot 6 of the costume inventory. Slots 1, 2 and 3 are for weapon skins, hair styles and costumes. Slot 4 is mounts and slot 5 is aura outfits. The costume inventory opens from the Inventory with the costume button.
  • It does not expire. Unlike costumes, shoulder sashes have no timer on them.
  • You can equip one from level 1. No level gate on the item itself.
  • Only Custom grade trades. Basic, Fine and Noble sashes are account bound. The tradeable ones are the Custom grade.
  • Four grades. Basic, Fine, Noble and Custom. Same grade combines into the next grade up.
Getting a sash

There are several routes and they are not all the same kind of effort.
  • Master Sash (basic). A reward for the repeatable quest "A special cloth" at level 40. This is the free route and it repeats.
  • Lord Sash (basic). Bought in the Item Shop for 49 DC.
  • Anniversary Sash (basic). Claimed during the Anniversary event.
  • Heart Sash (basic). Exclusive to the Valentine's Day event.
  • Treasure boxes. Aventurine Treasure, Aureolin Treasure, Astral Treasure, Sash Box and Large Sash Box all drop sashes of various grades. The Large Sash Box is the higher tier of the two box routes.
Combining sashes

The combination screen comes from the dialog option "Combination" at Theowahdan. You put the sash you want to upgrade in the top slot and the one you are spending in the bottom slot.
  • Failure costs the bottom sash. The top one is kept. That is the whole risk, and it is why you put the good sash on top.
  • Custom sashes can still be improved. Combining a Custom sash with another Custom sash raises the absorption rate from 1 to 5%.
  • An absorbed item improves with the sash. If a sash already has an item absorbed into it, upgrading the sash also improves that absorbed item's stats.
  • The shining effect. A Custom sash with an absorption rate of 19% or higher gets a shining effect. That is the visual tell for a high roll.
Bonus absorption, grade by grade

You use a sash to absorb the bonus from a weapon or armour. The weapon or armour you absorb is destroyed. This cannot fail, which makes it a safe way to move a bonus, but it is a one-way move.
  • Basic sashes absorb 1%.
  • Fine sashes absorb 5%.
  • Noble sashes absorb 10%.
  • Custom sashes absorb 11 to 25%. The percentage is set when the sash is made, not rolled later.
  • The process. Go to Theowahdan and pick "Absorption of bonuses". Sash on the left, weapon or armour on the right, and the result shows at the bottom. It transfers both the bonus and the stats of the item.
Removing and moving bonuses
  • Removal. Use the Certificate of Reversal or the Certificate of Reversal+ to strip the bonuses off a sash.
  • Transfer, since version 18.4. Theowahdan has a "Transfer Bonuses" option. Drag the Shoulder Sash Transfer into the slot, put the sash with the good bonuses on the right and the target sash on the left. Both sashes need the same absorption rate, so this is not a way to upgrade a rate.
  • The three outcomes. Failure drops the old sash's absorption rate by 1%. Partial success transfers the bonuses but drops the new sash's rate by 1%. Full success changes nothing.
  • The cost of a bad roll. Every failed transfer costs you 1% off the rate, and there is no item that restores it. Treat the transfer as the expensive step and the absorption as the cheap one.
The full sash list

The wiki lists the sashes by family, and each family has the four grades. From the page:
  • Lord Sash, in basic, fine, noble and custom grades, plus a Lord Sash+ custom variant.
  • Master Sash, in basic, fine, noble and custom grades
  • Anniversary Sash
  • Heart Sash, in basic, fine, noble and custom grades
  • You Sash, in noble and custom grades
  • Hai Sash, in basic, fine, noble and custom grades
  • Sash Box and Large Sash Box, which drop several sashes of different grades
What the page does not tell you

The wiki gives the grade rules, the absorption percentages and the transfer outcomes, but it does not list a success chance for combining sashes, does not give the drop rates for the treasure boxes, and does not say how many of each box you need for a Custom. Those are the numbers that decide whether this system is worth the Yang, and they are not on the page. Test the combine on a cheap pair first.
