Metin2 Arena: the Yu-Hwan 1v1 map, the level 15 entry, the three-kill duel, and the potion rules

Metin2 has a dedicated 1 versus 1 map, entered through an NPC rather than a normal zone. The English wiki calls it Arena and the German wiki calls it Arena fuer Uebungskaempfe, the practice fight arena. Two players are teleported onto a special map and fight there, and the fight has its own rules that differ from an open world duel.

Entry
  • The map is for 1 versus 1 player battle only.
  • Available from level 15.
  • Accessed from Yu-Hwan, who stands in each second map of your kingdom.
  • Both players have to stay close to Yu-Hwan during registration.
  • One of the contenders signs up and writes down the opponent's character name.
  • The other player receives an invitation.
  • Inside, there are 3 rounds and the player who has won the most of them wins.
  • When the battle is over, both players are teleported back.
  • Up to 4 battles can happen at the same time.
  • You can watch a fight as a spectator by talking to Yu-Hwan.
What the German wiki adds

The German page carries detail the English one does not print:
  • The special map is made of a four part arena.
  • The practice fight ends when one of the duelists has killed the other 3 times. Read against the English "3 rounds", that points to a best of three rather than a count of rounds played to the end.
  • The level difference between the two players may be at most 15 levels.
  • No seals work in the practice arena.
  • Taus works in the arena, including after the first death.
  • Mixtures and juices do not work in the arena, even after the first death.
Potions

The English page says it is not possible to use potions that heal or recover HP or SP. The German page is more specific: red potions and blue potions are not usable during the practice fight, but green potions are. Elixirs do not work in the arena at all. If you are planning a duel, the two pages disagree on scope, and the German one is the more precise of the two.

The map itself

There are no monsters, no metins, no NPCs and no ore veins on the arena map, so there is nothing to farm and nobody to talk to once you are inside. The German wiki lists Bokjung, Bakra and Jayang as the adjacent areas.
